A top for Farmor!

A top for Farmor!

My mom sent me this fabric several months ago and after making the Omilie dress the other day I realized I had the perfect pattern for this fabric. The Omilie pattern is from Merchant & Mills and can be made long sleeve or short sleeve and in a top or dress. It's very gathered which means it requires a ton of width in your fabric - which is why it was a perfect way to use this thrifted fabric. The fabric was from my late grandmother's kitchen. Used as curtains going across the rod they're much wider than long, so basically perfect for a top version of this pattern. The fabric was slightly too short but I made do and it was totally fine! I wore this the other day and showed my dad and he told me my Farmor (in Swedish your grandmother is either your farmor, farther's mother, or mormor, mother's mother) was smiling in heaven (I'm not crying, you're crying). I have a couple of other pieces of fabric of hers that my mom sent along and I already have a couple of ideas of how they can get used. Stayed tuned!

xoxo Renée
